Talofa lava Family,

I hope this letter finds you all well. Its great to hear that Taft is really enjoying singing, it is a talent that can come in useful in the future. I actually sing a lot these days also, im constantly surrounded by Polynesians and they love to sing. so we are basically singing all the time. So Keana, you decided to drop pre calc. I cant say that i blame you... I did the same thing. hahah Its weird to think it is already the end of you first term, and that I have already been here for five weeks. That's such a long time!!!

I wouldn't say that i'm getting restless... okay maybe a little bit. haha My Samoan is very broken, but its getting better. This week was very good for me. I went into a lesson to teach a lesson, and I took zero notes in with me. I was able to to say almost everything that I wanted to say. My sentence structure wasn't perfect, but my teach said that is was defiantly understandable. It gave me hope that I will actually be able to speak the language. I am also glad that I want to draw stuff... hahaha sure i can send you some, when I get the opportunity to actually draw something. I got the camera yesterday. Thank you so much for that!!! Do you know what was wrong with the last one? Did you have to pay for the new one? Or did you just do an exchange?

I got the packages from Tannen, Thank you for all the stuff! I have never seen Three dozen brownies vanish so fast. hahaha I shared them with my whole zone. Our zone is Huge by the way, It includes all of the Polynesian islands and we got about twenty Tongans this last week, so we have about 80-90 missionaries in our zone. I love the Polynesians, they are so nice and have such a friendly sense of humor.

Thank you for your question Dad, its really cool that you said that because its almost exactly what a speaker at our devotional said on Tuesday. Its also something that i have been pondering for the past few days. this week has been wonderful for me, I have spent a lot of time studying the scriptures, and I have just felt the spirit so strongly the past few days. I can feel it when I teach my Investigators and when i'm studying and praying. this week has defiantly been my favorite week in the MTC. I just feel good all the time.

I spend my whole hour writing you guys... and they are really short, so that just shows you how slow of a typer I am. haha

I hope you are all doing well

Talova lava!

ou te fiafia le MTC. e te a'oa'o a'u tele Fa'asamoa ma le talalelei.

I glad to hear about your missionary work, Keep up the good work!

I'm glad to hear that Taft is making good use of his time, does he enjoy what he is doing? That's really cool that you will be able to see him and that it is televised nation wide. yes i remember those savior of the world practices... they were soooo long. and lots of fun. did you enjoy your trip to Park City, and Denver. I heard that Kjanela also gave a talk on Sunday. Im sure that they both did great. Bringing more technology into the class room. that sounds fun... i wont be seeing any of that over the next two years. :) good luck on your inventory management videos. keana told me mush the same thing, I hope she is enjoying high school, and not just rushing through it.

My week has been good. Lets think what have i done... everyday is pretty mush the same as the last. wake up in the morning and get ready to go down to breakfast, after breakfast we have TALL (technology assisted language learning) I'm not a big fan of TALL, i feel that it is very limited. After tall we have personal study time before we get to go down to gym, After gym we get time to get cleaned up and get down to lunch. After lunch we have our classroom instruction, wherein we learn Samoan, study the gospel, and teach our Samoan investigators. after that we get have more study time before diner. and then we do the same thing after diner that we did after lunch. After which we have planning/study time before we go up to the residence.   That is my average day at the MTC. not to exciting. I'm looking forward to actually getting out into the field. It will be nice to have some variety in my day.

I bought a sketch book the other day. which I am glad i did, sonetime its nice to take a few minutes and do something fun like that. if you haven't already sent the package, it would be nice to have some of my actually art pencils. but if you have already sent it don't worry about it. I also hope you have had the opportunity to see Tannen and get my camera from him.

I hope you are all doing Great!

Talofa, Aiga

Thank you for your last email, its really funny because I have actually been thinking about that scene of the Lion King over the past week. It has been something that has made me want to improve and be a better person.

I am only slightly offended that dad doesn't think I am capable of using such vocabulary, hahaha :) Congrats on getting the house sold! I bet that lifts a bunch of weight of your shoulders. I feel that I am making progress with the language, I can actually make a bunch of sentences of my choosing without using any resources, and my vocabulary is getting quite large! I have make a notebook of every word in Samoan that I know. its getting quite large now, I hope to keep writing in it through out my mission.  But of course i'm nowhere near as good as I want to be. Its really nice, in Samoan you don't have to do conjugate anything.

All of us are going to Samoa, except seven of us, five to New Zealand, one to Hawaii, and one to California. Its really cool because there are enough of us here to cover the whole island of Savai. (the biggest island of Samoa)

I'm glad to hear that you are keeping Taft busy. I'm not sure what Madrigals is, but I hope he enjoys it. I hope Keana is doing great, I didn't get the pleasure of hearing from her this week. but I know she is busy. Just make sure she is enjoying life, and not just trying to get through it. Have fun on your trip this weekend. And yes that would be scary! but he will do a great job. congrats on getting those shelves put up! Did all four of you work on it? As for my blog. its up to you, I doesn't matter to me what it is called. Whatever you choose will be great.

This past week has gone by sooo fast! all the days just blur together. I'm trying to keep a daily journal, so that helps a little. Its weird to think that i have already been here for three weeks. I'm really enjoying the MTC, and I am really looking forward to the next two years. There is an Elder in my district who I workout with every evening or so. there isn't much to say. Live is going great!!

If for some reason you were to ever send me a package or anything like that, I could use some spiral notebooks, (im going through them really fast) I could also use some more hair gel/paste I and almost out.

Ou te alofa ia te outou!!

Hey, Family!

I am really short on time today so its going to be extra short. i promise a better e mail next week.

Tannen told me about Owen, so i have been praying for him and i am glad to hear that he is doing better. Tannen also told me the flag pole story, i thought it was ingenious!!
Its amazing what can happen when we listen to the spirit.

This week has been great! sometimes i feel like my brain is going to explode from all of the stuff that i am learning. and i would like to let dad know that i am in better shape know than i was before i left, and that i am not gaining weight. :)

I'm sad to say that a member of my district went home this week, that was hard for everyone. we are all like super good friends now, its kind of weird... there are 39 people learning Samoan her at the MTC, the largest group that they have ever had ever.

I'm sorry but i really need to go.

love,

Dear, Family

The MTC is great!!! in the short time that I have been here I have learned so much. I must admit that the first three day were very hard, missing my family and just getting into a different kind of life style. but since Sunday I have enjoyed being here so much. The spirit here is incredible. My companions name is Elder, Siufanua he is from Utah, but is full Samoan. i have enjoyed having him as a companion.

On Sunday i was able to sit next to Kjanela for the evening devotional, which I thought was really cool. and later that night Tannen came up to my room to say hello.

As i said, i have learned a lot here. and for once i actually enjoy going to class. hahaha my teachers are awesome and i feel i am making come progress with the language. and for dad i learned how to say your welcome fa'afetai fo'i (thank you also). In the short time that i have been here i have found a love for reading and studying the book of Mormon. and i fell that i have grown closer to the spirit.

The eating schedule is really annoying though, we eat lunch and dinner really early. lunch at 11:30 and dinner at 4:30.

Dad, Keana and Taft. I would LOVE to here from you as well!!! Keana, Taft you could use dear elder. if you dont know what that is, ask mom.

I'm glad to hear that you are all doing well, and that Keana appreciates me. :) Good luck getting the house cleaned out, and with closing. i seriously doubt that your life's will slow down. haha. I will keep Sister Dearian in my prayers. I love and miss you all. I look forward to hearing from you all!!

Thank you for writing,

Elder, Fawcett.

P.S. sorry for all the bad spelling and grammar. :D
